Business Migration

combat

If you are a business person who is considering migrating to Australia under one of the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) Business Skills migration categories, you are invited to consider making South Australia your new home for business and living.

Sponsorship from the South Australian Government is available for the following business migration categories:

  • Business Owner
  • Senior Executive
  • Investor
  • Business Talent

Immigration SA sponsors eligible business migrants for provisional and permanent visas issued by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). This is a two-step process:

1. Apply to Immigration SA for sponsorship if you meet the State Government criteria. Find out more under 'visa options' at www.migration.sa.gov.au

2. If State sponsorship is granted and you meet Federal Government migration requirements, apply to DIAC www.immi.gov.au for a visa. Remember that State Government sponsorship does not guarantee visa approval from DIAC.

Provisional Visas

  • Business Owner - The State Sponsored Business Owner 163 Visa for owners or part-owners of businesses.
  • Business Senior Executive - The State Sponsored Business Senior Executive 164 Visa for senior executives with managerial experience in a major business.
  • Business Investor - The State Sponsored Business Investor 165 Visa for investors willing to invest capital into the South Australian economy by engaging in business or investment activities.

Permanent Residency Visas

  • Business Talent - The State Sponsored Business Talent 132 Visa for top level business people who intend to reside in South Australia and undertake significant business activity of exceptional economic benefit to the state. This is a permanent residence visa with no provisional visa required.
  • Business Owner - The State Sponsored Business Owner Subclass 892 (Permanent Residence) Visa for 163, 164 or 165 provisional visa holders. To qualify for permanent residency you must demonstrate your business has provided a benefit to the State economy and you meet all State and Federal Government requirements.
  • Business Investor - The State Sponsored Business Investor Subclass 893 (Permanent Residence) Visa for 165 visa holders who meet all State and Federal Government requirements. To qualify you must have held an investment with the South Australian Financing Authority (SAFA) as stipulated by DIAC under the Subclass 165 visa.

Please note: The Government of South Australia, through Immigration SA, only processes State sponsorships for the above mentioned visas. For visa applications you need to submit a separate application to DIAC.
