South Australia: The World's Finest Blend
South Australia is home to world famous food and wine regions,
providing casual employment opportunities for holders of a Working
Holiday Maker Visa.
As a visitor to South Australia, you
will enjoy a brilliant blend of spacious beaches, vibrant
festivals, cosmopolitan restaurants, fascinating wildlife and the
amazing outback.
The capital city, Adelaide, is repeatedly adjudged one of the
world's most liveable cities. Acknowledged as a place where it
remains possible to combine a career and relaxed lifestyle, it
earns its "liveable" reputation through high-quality education and
health systems, a diverse and welcoming social environment, mild
climate and affordable, cosmopolitan and safe living
conditions.
Visa eligibility
Under Australia's Working Holiday program, visitors aged 18 to 30 are eligible to apply for a 1-year Australian Working Holiday Maker Visa to supplement their travel funds through temporary employment. You are allowed to do any kind of work of a temporary or casual nature, and you can work with each employer for up to six months. There is a second year Working Holiday Maker Visa available. To obtain this you must prove you have worked in a specific industry in an area designated by the government to be "regional", which includes the whole of South Australia. You must have worked or volunteered for a minimum of 3 months in a specified industry which includes plant and animal cultivation (such as harvesting/packing fruit and vegetable crops), fishing, tree farming/felling, mining or construction.
If you satisfy these requirements you can apply for a second 12 month Working Holiday Maker Visa while still in Australia or after your departure. Further information and application forms available from Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC)
